Trae SuttonKasberg, Patrick & Associates, LP (KPA) Associate, Alvin R. “Trae” Sutton, III, P.E. was named 2008 Engineer of the Year for the Central Texas Region by the Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) at their annual banquet held late February. This award recognizes professional engineers who have represented their profession with the utmost dignity and respect as well as their contributions to the community.

Mr. Sutton recently completed his 6th year as the MathCounts coordinator on behalf of TSPE Central Texas Chapter for the local competition and is the current Chair Elect for the State MathCounts Competition. MathCounts is a problem solving based math competition used to promote and educate 6th through 8th grade students about the engineering profession.

Trae is also active in several community organizations. He is the current President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Belton and is a member of the Lions Club of Belton. He is the current Chair-Elect of the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC). Trae is a Past-President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Central Texas Chapter and a graduate of Leadership Belton.

As an Associate with KPA, he is responsible for the planning and design of transportation projects, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, drainage projects, water distribution, wastewater collection, engineering reports and construction administration.
