Shaping the Future: Rick Kasberg, R. David Patrick, and Trae Sutton Take on New Roles to Drive Future Growth

KPA Engineers is excited to announce a strategic leadership transition that positions the firm for continued growth and innovation. Rick Kasberg, PE, who has served as President for over three decades, will be stepping into a new role as Chief Technical Officer. In his new capacity, Rick will leverage his extensive expertise in water and wastewater engineering to focus on advancing KPA’s technical engineering capabilities and spearheading innovative solutions in water engineering projects. 

Throughout his career, Rick has been instrumental in KPA’s development and success, contributing to numerous water and wastewater projects across Central Texas. His dedication and leadership have helped shape the firm’s reputation for delivering high-quality engineering services. Rick’s extensive expertise and long-standing client relationships will continue to be central to KPA’s project success.

Taking the helm as KPA’s new President and CEO is R. David Patrick, PE, CFM. With over 25 years at the firm, David’s leadership and vision have been crucial to KPA’s expansion and success. His dedication to growth and collaboration has driven KPA to expand its service offerings, now providing a comprehensive range of civil engineering, landscape architecture, planning, and architecture services.

Additionally, Alvin R. “Trae” Sutton, III, PE, CFM will take on the role of Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Trae will call on his 24 years of experience with the firm to focus on operational efficiency and resource management, ensuring that KPA continues to deliver high-quality engineering services across all offices​. His technical background, combined with his leadership experience, positions him to further enhance the firm’s operational excellence.
