R. David Patrick, PE, CFM

Celebrating 25 Years

Please join us in celebrating R. David Patrick, PE, CFM, as he celebrates his 25th anniversary with KPA Engineers!

David joined KPA in 1998 as the 9th full-time employee and his career has catapulted since he became a Partner in 1999. His passion for growth, strong leadership skills, and collaboration have helped expand KPA to over 50 employees, now offering Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Aerial Mapping, and Architecture services.

David always knew that he wanted to be an engineer, as his great-grandfather, grandfather, and father were all involved in the oil and gas industry, exposing David to engineering at an early age. Upon his graduation from Texas A&M University in 1992, David asked his father for career advice, to which he responded, “Boy, get you’re a** in the field and learn something.” So that is what he did. Before joining KPA, David practiced engineering design under the Eby Corporation, and served as the Project Manager of the largest segmental bridge in the continental US.

When asked about his accomplishments, David is most proud of his wife, Angela, his children, Emily, Kelly, China, and Diego, and his fond memories of developing and growing KPA into all that the firm represents today, alongside Rick Kasberg. With a career spanning 31 years, David has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the multi-disciplinary, constantly evolving, and technologically advanced field of Civil Engineering. He has adapted and grown throughout his career, working alongside the community and his colleagues to provide creative infrastructure solutions. His commitment as a leader is shown in his involvement in the community, supporting planning efforts and economic development by providing his expertise to Economic Development Corporations and Tax Reinvestment Zones.

We are all thankful for David’s dedication and look forward to the continued success and impact to KPA and the Central Texas community.
