Progress on the Temple Membrane Water Treatment Facility Expansion
Temple, TX
Based on the current Texas Water Development Board population, the historical water usage, and future land-use projections, anticipated water demands for the City of Temple were established. In addition to these projections, a water distribution network analysis was performed using the computer module, WaterGEMS. From these findings, needs were determined and are sequenced to meet the projected water demands for expected populations.
The City’s Water Treatment Plant is currently rated at a capacity of 41.0 MGD. To meet the demands for the future, an 11.6 MGD expansion of the Temple Membrane Water Treatment Plant is underway! The project will also include chemical feed and storage, construction of additional clearwells, and a high service pump station. Once completed, the City of Temple will have two interconnected, stand-alone treatment plants capable of producing more than 52 MGD.
Throughout the project, KPA has continuously conducted preliminary investigations, administers project management, and prepared applicable construction plans, details and specifications. Additional services KPA has provided include; site surveys, geotechnical services, and bid phase services.
