Progress on the 1.5 MG South Standpipe Rehabilitation

City of Pflugerville

Progress toward the rehabilitation of the 1.5 MGD South Standpipe in Pflugerville is underway! Initially constructed in 1985, the Standpipe rehabilitation project features repairs and modifications that will improve the overall function and aesthetics of the Standpipe.

The project includes replacing the roof vents, interior, and exterior ladders, safety handrailing, complete coating removal, and re-application of the interior and exterior surfaces. An additional element of this project will be installing a concrete splash pad with energy dissipators and rock riprap to prevent erosion from overflow.

In the course of the project, KPA developed plans and worked with HOT Inspection Services to create specifications for the rehabilitation of the Standpipe.
