MLK Festival Grounds Improvements | City of Temple

Project Description: The MLK Festival Ground improvements are part of a City initiative to enhance the Downtown Temple area and provide a unique experience.
This project converts the overhead electricity into underground electricity, which will create a clean landscape and an open space for our community.
Another aspect of this project is the rehabilitation of two buildings on 4th Street and the development of parking facilities for the two buildings. Staff will utilize one building, complete with a kitchen and restrooms, while the second renovated building will provide additional storage.
The updated MLK Festival Grounds will feature a large open area that can be utilized in all weather conditions, making it possible to move festival equipment in and out of the grounds no matter the circumstances. Also noteworthy is that the City’s Santa Fe Market Trail, which connects the grounds to the rest of downtown Temple.
Scope of Services: KPA has developed the preliminary and final designs for the underground electrical conversion along with the civil design for the new parking facilities. In addition to the designs, KPA has provided bidding services, construction administration, and on-site representation for these developments.
