Heritage Park Improvements, Phase I | City of Belton
Belton, TX
Project Description: The City of Belton purchased an adjoining 85 acres of the Leon Valley Golf Course along the northern border of the current Heritage Park. This expansion will create a community space and support infrastructure totaling more than 140 acres.
This project site has a vast expanse of open space exhibiting the ideal character found in the adjacent Leon River. It capitalizes on the ample room to provide flexible lawns that allow various recreation opportunities to meet vast user groups within Belton and the greater area.
Phase 1 of the Heritage Park improvement project includes a roadway extension, a new parking area with access drives within the park expansion, water and wastewater extensions, a concrete circuit trail, pavilion renovations, a multi-purpose athletic field, a floating pier/dock, a children’s play area, a concession stand, restroom facilities, landscape improvements, and irrigation improvements.
With the variety of elements in this expansion, we will continue collaborating with Covey Planning + Landscape Architecture to bring the community a functional and aesthetically appealing park.
