KPA’s Askar Karimov and Addison Skrla attended an HEC-RAS seminar on June 26th – 28th in Boston, MA. The seminar is an intensive, hands-on computer workshop using the HEC-RAS computer program in real world situations. The HEC-RAS modeling system incorporates various aspects of hydraulic modeling, including water surface profiles, bridge hydraulics, and flood plain information studies using steady flow capabilities.

KPA is proud to announce the addition of Landon C. Kasberg, EIT to our staff. Mr. Kasberg received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2019 and is a licensed Engineer-in Training in the State of Texas (67290). He has gained experience during three summer internships surveying various waterline and subdivision layouts.

Landon offices in our Georgetown location and we are excited to welcome him to KPA’s civil design team.

KPA welcomed Summer Intern, Emma A. Cox, on June 3, 2019. Ms. Cox is an Academy High School graduate and currently a Junior at Texas A&M University working on a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

Emma will assist KPA’s professional engineers on utility and transportation projects while gaining experience and knowledge of the civil engineer profession.

On May 17th 2019, Carmen Collins completed her 20th year of employment at KPA Engineers. Ms. Collins serves as our Administrative Assistant and is knowledgeable on a variety of tasks within the office. In addition to her daily administrative tasks Carmen works directly with our engineers on assignments for the preparation of bidding documents for projects and has proven that she is committed to her duties and the client’s needs.

KPA’s Principals are sincerely appreciative of her 20 years of service, hard work and commitment to the Firm and are looking forward to many more years to come.

KPA is proud to announce the addition of Askarali Karimov, Ph.D. to our staff. Mr. Karimov received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Water Management and Hydrological Sciences in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2016. Askar served as a Research Associate and Graduate Assistant for the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University since 2012. He has extensive knowledge and experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, assessment, inspections, design, construction, operation and maintenance of water treatment systems and water treatment plants. He also has comprehensive experience in water and agricultural systems, environmental and natural resource management and planning.

Askarali has performed educational and engineering services in five different countries, and has published numerous papers, reviews and technical reports. He is active in the American Water Works Association, the American Society of Biological and Agricultural Engineers and the U.S. Committee on Irrigation and Drainage.

Askarali offices in our Temple location and we are excited to welcome him to KPA’s civil design team.

 

The Knights of Columbus Council 3444 Temple held the 51st Law Enforcement Appreciation Banquet on Monday, April 29th, 2019 at the Knights of Columbus hall in Temple. An officer from each law enforcement department is nominated to receive the award of Outstanding Officer of the Year in their department.  Then one officer is selected as Outstanding Peace Officer of East Bell County.  This year’s Outstanding Peace Officer of East Bell County is Officer Jeffery Smith.  We thank all of our law enforcement personnel for their service as well as their families who support them.  KPA sponsored the award for Outstanding Trooper and has provided all the coordination and administration support for this event since the late 1990’s.

Rick N. Kasberg, P.E., Thomas D. Valle, P.E. and Ginger R. Tolbert, P.E. attended the Texas Water Conference April 2-5, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Texas Water is a four day conference held by both the Water Environment Association of Texas and the Texas Section American Water Works Association (AWWA). At the conference Mr. Kasberg, Mr. Valle, and Mrs. Tolbert attended many technical sessions related to wastewater collection, water distribution and treatment processes.

 

On March 26th, Doug Krumnow completed his 33rd year of employment at KPA Engineers. Mr. Krumnow has over 35 years of experience in Computer Aided Draftsman (CAD). At KPA he has served as Senior Draftsman and design technician on a wide range of municipal projects which includes roadways, water and wastewater lines, treatment plants, pump stations and numerous other civil design projects.

Doug graduated at Texas State Technical Institute with an A.A.S. in Civil Engineering Technology. He has utilized AutoCAD (Computer Aided Drafting Software) extensively since its conception in the early 1980’s for preparation of engineering plans and documents. Since the early 1980’s, he has perfected his computer drafting skills to the point that he is one of the most knowledgeable AutoCAD operators in this area of the State.

 

KPA is proud to announce the addition of Addison R. Skrla, EIT to our staff. Ms. Skrla received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2015 and is a licensed Engineer-in Training in the State of Texas (54599).
