Project Description:  The City of Temple, Texas owns the Doshier Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant located in east Temple. The plant has three (3) Influent Screw Pumps that lift the plant influent approximately 22 feet to the fine screen structures. These Screw Pumps were placed into operation in 1993 and had reached the end of their operational life.

Scope of Services: KPA was contracted by the City to investigate the existing units and recommend a replacement or rehabilitation method for restoring the full influent capacity. KPA met with City personnel and the plant staff on numerous occasions to discuss the operational aspects and prepared several alternatives including both replacement of the screw pumps with a wet well, submersible pump system, replacement of the screw pumps with like equipment or rehabilitation of the existing screw pumps.

After meeting with the City and preparing opinion of probable costs for all three alternatives, KPA recommended replacing the existing screw pumps with similar equipment. KPA prepared construction plans and specifications that included detailing the specific project requirements for maintaining operation of the existing pumps during construction.

Construction Cost: $694,000
