Central Avenue Rehabilitation | City of Belton

Project Description: The Central Avenue Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project originated as a need by the City of Belton to provide a gateway into Downtown Belton. The project consisted of reconstructing approximately 2,400 feet of Central Avenue from Penelope Street to IH 35. The main construction activities included sub-grade removal, removing and replacing the existing sidewalks, driveways, curb and gutter, pavement section, as

well as adjustment of water and wastewater utilities and the installation of electrical conduit, antique light poles, striping and signage. KPA participated in public meetings with impacted businesses along Central Avenue to ensure public concerns/issues were addressed in the plans, specifications, and traffic control plans. The road remained open and all businesses had continuous access throughout the construction of the project.

Scope of Service: KPA provided preliminary planning and design services as well as design and construction surveys, dry utility coordination, design of water and wastewater rehabilitation, coordination of geotechnical investigations, pavement, and sub-grade design, final design, drainage analysis, bidding, and construction administration.   KPA also coordinated with various entities including TxDOT, Oncor, and TDLR.
